BIOGRAPHY
Esther Bartolo, Peruvian Visual Artist.
Since she was little, she always had a fascination for the printed images that were reproduced on offset machines in her grandfather's printing press, so naturally, she was attracted to aesthetics, drawing, shapes and colors of covers, books, and advertisements. Her interest developed much more when she decided to study advertising at the Instituto Peruano de Publicidad IPP, also obtaining a Post-Graduate Degree from the IAA-International Advertising Association in 1993.

In her eagerness to evolve and to provide her graphics with a freer stroke with topics of personal interest, she decided to explore into to the visual arts. In 2010 she graduated from the Escuela Superior Corriente Alterna with honors, and a Gold Medal for her trajectory of studies. Two years later she got a Bachelor's Degree in Art at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Perú.

Over time, her knowledge of the different techniques artistic supports and her interest in Literature and Philosophy have allowed her to increase her visual language to give foundation to her projects around women, their position throughout history, and their current situation in society. In addition, its main theme has connected her with UN Women to collaborate and spread messages against violence to women and girls. Esther believes that art can be a tool to educate and change society.
Esther currently lives and works in New York.
